The Friends meet p e r i o d i c a l l y , a p p r o x i m a t e l y monthly, at 7:00pm, usually in the Community Room at the Church, to plan and organise fundraising and other events and to discuss funding needs. There is no fixed committee membership so if you would like to be involved just give us a call and turn up! Village Fête 2024
The Village Fête took place on Saturday the 8th June on Bacton Manor Lawn, by kind permission of David and Diana Chambers. Whilst the event was threatened with deteriorating weather, the rain held off as visitors enjoyed a variety of games and displays. Enthusiasts admired the immaculate 1958 Chevrolet Biscayne and others visited the Bric-a-Brac stall or tried thier hands at bowling or Beat the Buzzer. There was also a draw for a Meat Hamper and the Friends own Fête Draw for an enticing range of prizes. All to the accompaniment of music by local duo ‘Just Us’. The day raised nearly £1,800 for the Friends’ funds. The event was followed on the Sunday by a D - Day Commemoration Concert held in St Mary’s Church.
